FIRE RESCUE TV DELIVERS DIGITAL SIGNAGE CONTENT ON A NATIONAL SCALE

Fire Rescue TV is a digital media platform that focuses on delivering firefighter news, messages, training dates, committee meetings, and more to fire and EMS administrators. Headed by Retired Firefighter Martin Grube, his experiences as a news stringer for CNN and a firefighter photographer created a passion for news and information within this space. Realizing that fire departments lacked a single, national communication source, which could lead to some chaotic outcomes, Grube created Fire Rescue TV. After diving into the digital signage field in 2011 with a business partner, Grube realized in 2019 the news company needed a more updated and flexible software platform to continue pushing out information at an efficient pace. After getting a great price and forming strong connections with the team, Fire Rescue TV would partner with REACH Media Network for its continued signage journey. Now, Fire TV can send out news from the county level all the way to a more national scale. While each department is a little different, Fire Rescue TV is able to scale and tailor its displays through the flexibility of REACH Media Network digital signage!

THE SOLUTION

Before partnering with REACH Media Network, Fire Rescue TV used its own software to create content for its displays. Around 2019, the organization realized it had to find a more modern solution as the business began to grow. The news network simply needed more servers and supportive staff to support its large-scale project. Through extensive research, REACH Media Network kept coming up as a recommendation. Signing up for a demo, Fire Rescue TV also found they loved the price and developed strong relationships with the staff. Now, Grube is able to manage screens on a national scale. While some departments want their own control over their digital signage displays, Grube is still able to offer relevant content and scale it appropriately. In fact, in addition to new departments, Grube has also maintained and served all his clients since 2011.

THE RESULTS

Now fully integrated with REACH Media Network’s digital signage software, Fire Rescue TV has been able to not only expand its business but also its content potential as well. Using a network of about 400 reporters, Fire Rescue TV texts, emails, and links from journalists all over the world. This content is then consolidated into content packages that can then be sent out to its clients. The network uses REACH Media Network’s full suite of digital signage apps, including:

  • iframes,
  • Traffic maps,
  • Calendars,
  • Custom HTML,
  • Shared playlists.
  • Weather

These content pieces come in various forms. In fact, Fire Rescue TV can direct fire departments to exact latitudes and longitudes for help. Social media promotions help the network advertise its services and draw in more departments. Videos can be rotated through layout zones on a loop, cycling through YouTube videos, new product promotions, training guides, and safety reminders. If requested by a department, training guides can also be set up to play during certain times of day. The network can also display currently ongoing fires, which can alert local departments to the severity of a fire. To ensure all this content remains fresh, Fire Rescue TV also takes advantage of REACH Media Network’s free design services. This keeps layouts looking fresh and content constantly relevant and engaging. Some screens are even located in high schools that have recruitment and cadet programs, expanding the network’s reach even further. They are a fantastic example of what a comprehensive digital signage program can provide when a digital signage strategy is adapted appropriately.
