Hometown Urgent Care has adopted REACH Media Network’s digital signage software to enhance patient engagement and streamline operations across its 34 urgent care locations. The company began using REACH in June, shortly after its founding, and has plans to potentially scale up to 300 displays.
Hometown Urgent Care partnered with REACH after a recommendation from employees who used it at previous positions. Confident in REACH’s flexible digital signage software, the health center began implementing these screens across various locations. Starting with 5 or 6 displays at The Champion Companies, then 11 to 13 at 2J Supply, until finally 34 with Hometown Urgent Care.
The company inherited BrightSign players already installed at its clinics. Onboarding those devices to REACH was initially challenging due to compatibility issues with BrightSign’s cloud platform. Each device and later created a BSN.cloud account to streamline future deployments.

REAL-TIME INFORMATION AND MARKETING INTEGRATION
Each location uses REACH to display weather, news tickers, and healthcare clinic digital signage content. The displays also show real-time wait times using an iframe from Clockwise, the company’s scheduling platform. Eventually, Hometown Urgent Care wants to explore deeper API integration to improve the visual presentation of wait times. The goal is to keep patients informed, entertained, and looking at the screens. This requires vibrant and diverse content to capture attention.
Marketing content is managed by the company’s marketing director and interns, who use a mix of Adobe Illustrator and Canva to create campaigns. Content is scheduled in advance based on seasonal promotions, such as sports physicals. By scheduling content in advance, these assets and announcements will automatically be pushed and pulled from screens during the appropriate time frames.
REACH’s CMS 2.0 platform has improved usability and offers a Canva integration that could streamline content creation. Such an integration can streamline content creation and management for the company’s intern team that creates many assets used in digital displays. Overall, the company has benefited from:
- Improved Patient Experience
- Marketing Visibility
- Streamlined Content Management
EXPANDING USE CASES AND COST CONSIDERATIONS
Hometown Urgent Care is also exploring the use of BrightSign players in exam rooms to display branded entertainment and educational videos. This could improve the patient experience while they wait to be seen.
LOOKING AHEAD
When asked about the future, Hometown Urgent Care describes how it is working closely with REACH’s account management team to improve onboarding, explore new integrations, and optimize content delivery. The company expects to expand its signage platform and continue delivering information as efficiently as possible through digital signage integrations
